Beth Birgy
Owner and Instructor Beth has owned MP Fit Club since July 1, 2014. She has been certified and teaching group fitness classes since 2009. She has her group fitness certification through AFAA, has certifications/trainings in Turbo Kick, TRX, RIPPED, Insanity, PiYo, RIP, SPIN, AMPD Kettlebell, Stroops, P90X, AMPD Kettlebell and AMPD Strength. At MP Fit Club she teaches Boxing, Kickboxing, Anything Goes Cardio, Body Sculpt, TRX, Turbo Kick, Ropes & Row, MP Power, Lunch Crunch, and Rise & Shine. When she's not at MP Fit Club, she stays busy spending time being active with her kids and friends. |
Julie Maxon
Julie is a native of Mt Pleasant, mother of 3 daughters, and teacher & coach (volleyball, basketball, softball) at MPPS for 26 years. She has always been active in sports and played softball for CMU. She loves to run and has completed 6 marathons including the Boston Marathon. She has also enjoyed competing in Dances with Dirt and the Great Lakes Relay. She enjoys all aspects of physical activity and has been teaching at the club for a few years. She holds certifications in Group Fitness & TRX, and is also CPR/AED certified. |
Nicki Schlicht
Nicki has been a group fitness instructor for the last 10 years! She is certified in WERQ Dance Fitness, Shockwave, CPR/First Aide, Xtreme Hip Hop, and is a POUND Pro & Generation POUND Pro. She most recently was selected to be on the POUND Tour Crew in which she can hold Masterclasses! She loves teaching POUND because it’s a rockout workout for any age, any stage! Nicki has a wonderful husband Ryan and 3 awesome boys, Noah, Caden, and Eli. If she is not at the gym, you can always find her at a ball field supporting and cheering on her boys in their athletics. Nicki has been teaching Elementary Physical Education for the last 20 years and loves how rewarding and FUN it is to teach! “Be someone’s strength. Be someone’s inspiration. Tracy Wood
Tracy has been an instructor at MP Fit Club since June of 2017. She loves the motivation and teamwork that group classes brings to her fitness journey. She is certified in Shockwave, Stroops, TRX, CPR/AED, Group Exercise & Myofascial Release Foam Roller. Tracy has had additional education in boxing, strength training, recovery, and nutrition. She teaches Body Boost & Restore, Kickboxing, Body Sculpt, Anything Goes Cardio, Shockwave, TRX, Warrior, Triple Threat, HIIT, Ropes & Row and even a Lunch Crunch or Cardio Boxing every once in a while! Tracy's favorite class to teach is Body Boost and her favorite workouts to attend are Body Sculpt and Boxing. Her favorite thing about MP Fit Club? MP Fit Club is a place for all ages and stages. Everyone is welcome and can become a part of the family. Tracy has a career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public schools. In her free time she enjoys all the pleasures of lake life such as walking, riding bikes, boating and reading with her husband of 25 years and her 2 daughters and son-in-law. |
Sarah Starrs
Sarah has been teaching at MP Fit club since June of 2018. Initially, she began working out at MP Fit Club and fell in love with the members and instructors. She considers MP Fit Club her second home. Sarah loves meeting, encouraging, and supporting others on their fitness journey. She primarily teaches Anything Goes Cardio, HIIT, Triple Threat, or Rise and Shine, and is TRX certified. Every so often, you might catch her at a Lunch Crunch and Ropes and Row, as well. Sarah is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public schools. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, family, and friends. She also loves to do anything that involves the outdoors and being outside. |
Jordan Hyames
Jordan has been teaching at MP Fit Club since May, 2017. She has always been an active person, but was looking for a fun way to mix up her workouts & to stay motivated during college. Jordan's mom invited her to come to MP Fit years ago, and to this day she and her mom still enjoy working out together & pushing each other at MP Fit almost every day. Jordan primarily teaches lunch crunch and the evening 4:30/5:30pm classes, with the occasional early morning 5:15am classes when needed. She teaches a lot of cardio classes, body sculpt, kickboxing, Wednesday rotational classes (HIIT, warrior, triple threat), and is certified in Shockwave and TRX. Jordan is currently a CMU student (graduating May 2020!!) and is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In addition to instructing at MP Fit, she is a part of the work exchange program at Yoga on Main. In her (little) free time, she loves doing anything outdoors - running, hiking, skiing, catching some rays, swimming, and hammocking. She loves fitness (shocker, right?), yoga, reading, coffee, bloody marys, sweet treats, road trippin', brewery hoppin', concerts, boating, her sorority, her friends, her doggo, her family, and MP Fit Club! |
Katherine Squire
Katherine has been teaching at MP Fit Club since June 2016. She joined MP Fit as a member in 2015 and quickly fell in love with group fitness and the uplifting environment that MP Fit offers. She teaches Kickboxing, Body Sculpt, HIIT, Triple Threat, Wednesday Warrior, Anything Goes Cardio, TRX, Ropes & Row, Boxing, No Ifs, ABS or BUTTS and Rise & Shine. Katherine is an Accountant at CMHCM and volunteers with Isabella County 4-H. She loves being outside and any time spent with her husband, Greg and son, Trace. One of her favorite things about MP Fit Club is that she’s able to workout alongside her mom and youngest sister! Katherine is certified in Stroops, TRX, Barre Above, Shockwave, WERQ, P90X and CPR/AED. Her favorite class is kickboxing and she loves burpees! She is passionate about helping members get stronger and loves to watch their confidence grow! |
Monica Leaureaux
Monica began her instructing journey in November of 2019. She joined MP Fit Club in June of 2016 and discovered a love for group fitness and the supportive environment the gym offered! Monica teaches Anything Goes Cardio, Kickboxing, Ropes and Row, and HIIT. She's most recently become certified in Group Exercise & TRX. Monica is a full time student at CMU studying Criminal Justice. In her free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Allex, and son, Carter. When she's not with family or friends, she likes staying active either at MP Fit or doing CrossFit. |
Crystal Sattelberg
Crystal has been instructing at MP Fit Club since May 2019. MP Fit is her happy place and she has been a member since 2014! When she's not instructing Body Sculpt or Anything Goes Cardio, you will find her advising students at Central Michigan University. Besides her Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education and Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration, Crystal recently received her certification in Group Exercise, Stroops, TRX and Xtreme Hip Hop! She is excited to work with you and help you become part of the MP Fit family! |
Jess Benchley
Jess has been an instructor at MP Fit Club since March, 2019 and has been working out since 2016. She enjoys working out, playing softball, hunting, traveling, spending time with her family at our lake house. She loves any outdoor activity, & teaching Body Sculpt at MP Fit! Jess is a cosmetologist, makeup artist, & also does laser hair removal. She is a stylist at The Perch Salon & Day Spa while her Laser Hair Removal Service is held at the Alpha Chiropractic in Clare. Positive people inspire her and keep her going! |
Becky Bolles
Becky has been instructing group fitness classes since November 2013 and has a group certification in AFAA. She enjoys being physically active in a variety of ways: running (including a trail ultra marathon, 25k runs, team relay races and many more), obstacle races, hiking, kickboxing, weight lifting, kayaking, rollerblading, biking, and BURPEEs, etc. Becky's full time occupation includes shareholder/attorney at Hall & Bolles, PC.. She has two wonderful and active children who keep her busy as well. She enjoys instructing, motivating, encouraging and working out along side all of the members at MP Fit Club. |
Janet Payton
Janet has been an instructor at MP Fit Club since 2016 and teaches mainly Body Sculpt and TRX. She has always been very active from using workout videos at home, to training for and running a marathon, and now working out and instructing at MP Fit Club! Janet loves that MP Fit is a place where people of any age can go and get a great work out and feel great about themselves. Janet says, "I have never felt so good and fit at the same time. I am what would be considered one of the "senior" instructors, so NEVER feel that you are too old to attend classes!" Janet works at Central Michigan District Health Department, as a Hearing and Vision Coordinator for Isabella county. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and decorating. She and her husband live in Clare and have 2 little Shih Tzu’s. She is also a great grandmother and has the sweetest Great grandson named Colton! |
Marissa Gloria
Marissa has been a member of MP Fit Club since January 2015 and began instructing in March of 2019. She is certified in Stroops and TRX. Like all of our instructors, she likes to challenge our members to be the best version of themselves. Marissa teaches a variety of classes including Anything Goes Cardio, Triple Threat, HIIT and Body Sculpt. Marissa enjoys running, rowing, strength training and mobility work through foam rolling. She has a passion for overall health and wellness. Marissa has a Masters Degree in Social Work and works full time as a therapist at Community Mental Health. She enjoys her down time by relaxing with her husband and son. |
Julie McGuirk
Julie has been getting her group fitness sweat on at MP Fit Club for several years. When WaterRower® machines were added to the gym in 2017, Julie decided to earn certification and join the awesome instructing staff to share her passion for fitness and rowing with other gym members. She is also certified in TRX! Julie’s interests include anything that moves your body, inside or outside! Some recent accomplishments include riding DALMAC cycling tour, ½ marathon in Las Vegas, and her boldest adventure to date was hiking R2R Grand Canyon with friends in 2019. Travel, keeping up with four active children, and finding quiet time to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with her husband, Rick, makes life pretty full! When not at the gym, Julie can be found working hard in the family-owned and operated business, McGuirk Sand-Gravel. Endurance Row is the class Julie enjoys teaching weekly; so join her and ROW your way towards health and wellness with workouts on the WaterRower® machines. |
Kayla Slezak
Kayla has spent the last 6 years heavily involved in educating herself on exercise science, nutrition, movement and psychological behavior associated with eating and working out. She is a certified Personal Trainer and has other certifications including Group Fitness, Spinning and Schwinn, TRX (Individual and Group) and CPR/First Aid. Kayla is a tri-athlete (Swim, Bike, Run), and has run multiple races over the years. Kayla's full time job is working for Ferris as a Faculty member teaching Human Resource Management. |
